Chapter 2412: Qingwei Prayer Jade Book

A clap of thunder overshadowed the surrounding wind and lightning.

The Thunderbeast Battle Guard thrust itself directly between the Plague Lord of Miasma and the Gu Witch, separating the two demons.

“Watch out!”

The Plague Lord of Miasma, sensing the Thunderbeast Battle Guard's formidable power, felt a chill in his heart. He was about to warn the Gu Witch when he heard her soft cry.

“Junior Brother, be careful!”

The Plague Lord of Miasma was startled. Only then did he realize that the battle formation was somewhat amiss: Moyan and the Thunderbeast Battle Guard had teamed up, surprisingly splitting the battlefield in two. Was it a coincidence that he and the three other demons were separated, or was it intentional?

Although he faced only one opponent, the undisguised killing intent in Qin Sang's eyes made the Plague Lord of Miasma feel a sense of unease.

‘Boom!’

A thunderous explosion.

The spearhead erupted with dazzling thunderous light, so brilliant that even the toxic miasma jointly unleashed by the Plague Lord of Miasma and the Gu Witch could not obscure the spear's sharpness.

The terrifying might of the thunder drew the gaze of all the demons. On the battlefield, it seemed only this spear remained, its power so absolute that it might even cause one to overlook the Thunderbeast Battle Guard wielding it.

In that moment, friend and foe alike were shaken by this single spear strike!

The Gu Witch, bearing the brunt of the attack, suddenly changed expression. On her chest, her magical robe was adorned with a green worm pattern.

The green worm peeled off her robe, transforming into a living, plump creature. It opened its mouth, revealing sharp fangs and teeth, looking quite fierce as it actively moved to protect its master.

‘Thud!’

The green worm lunged at the spear tip, but only caused the thunderlight to flicker once before it exploded into a bloody mess, dying miserably.

Seeing this, the Gu Witch was secretly alarmed and quickly summoned a clay pot.

‘Crack!’

The clay pot opened, releasing three streams of energy—one red, one purple, and one black. The three energies merged, transforming into a strange insect.

This creature had the body of a centipede, the wings of a butterfly, and spider-like long legs.

‘Bang!’

The strange insect lunged at the thunder spear, curling its entire body into a ball. Its dozens of long legs clung tightly to the thunderous light, surprisingly not being impaled by the spear.

A closer look would reveal that the part of the strange insect's body touching the thunderlight continuously disintegrated and re-solidified, constantly enduring the impact. However, its physical form was actually a mass of energy, allowing it to continuously dissipate force in this process. Yet, it still couldn't stop the thunder spear, and its energy was constantly being consumed.

Nevertheless, the strange insect rendered great service, temporarily helping the Gu Witch avert the crisis. No longer daring to underestimate the Thunderbeast Battle Guard, the Gu Witch shook her magical robe, causing insects to fall off in droves.

What appeared to be a single insect could actually split into tens of thousands, instantly forming a swarm.

Hordes of various insects swarmed together, a truly chilling sight. Unlike those insect cultivators' creatures, these were not spirit insects, nor even living beings. They were special venomous creatures refined by the Gu Witch using unique forbidden arts, making them even more dangerous than real poisonous insects!

With a ‘pop,’ the Gu Witch exploded, merging into the swarm, her true form now indistinguishable among the myriad insects.

‘Boom!’

The thunder spear pierced the swarm, and a brilliant thunder-flower bloomed, with streaks of lightning spreading throughout the insect mass. Countless insects were annihilated under the thunder's might, but the swarm was too vast for the Thunderbeast Battle Guard to completely clear it and force out the Gu Witch.

The Thunderbeast Battle Guard's expression remained impassive. It withdrew the spear, then swung its arm and hurled it forth.

‘Swish!’

The thunder spear fragmented, and dozens, even hundreds, of lightning spears appeared around the swarm, crackling with interconnected electrical light.

‘Boom!’

The Thunderbeast Battle Guard stomped heavily and charged directly into the swarm. Its body seemed encased in lightning armor as it rampaged through the insects.

It raised a hand and grasped a thunder spear. Its movements were grand and sweeping, not seeking the Gu Witch's true body, but merely driving the swarm away from the Plague Lord of Miasma and Qin Sang.

At this moment, the Thunderbeast Battle Guard fought without reservation, displaying the full power of a Void Refinement Peak cultivator!

Although it didn't possess the myriad divine abilities and transformations of a cultivator, it had formidable raw power. Without pain, unafraid of death, it was solely focused on fulfilling its master's commands!

The Gu Witch had never encountered such an opponent. She and her brother cultivated the path of plague and poison, yet the Thunderbeast Battle Guard was an inanimate object, almost a puppet. Ordinary poisons had no effect on it, and even some specialized plague and poison arts were greatly diminished.

Of course, having cultivated to the Gu Witch's level, her divine abilities couldn't remain stagnant. She possessed several direct offensive techniques, but how could they contend with the war-god-like Thunderbeast Battle Guard?

The Thunderbeast Battle Guard's assault was like a tide, overwhelmingly powerful, giving her no chance to breathe. Several times the Gu Witch tried to launch a forceful counterattack, only to be forced into a disheveled retreat by the Thunderbeast Battle Guard, having to temporarily avoid its edge and seek out its weaknesses.

For a time, the swarm was driven out of the toxic miasma by the Thunderbeast Battle Guard, all according to Moyan's plan. Qin Sang only needed to focus on dealing with the Plague Lord of Miasma; Moyan was the true commander on the battlefield!

The Thunderbeast Battle Guard displayed immense power, achieving far greater results than anticipated, making Moyan himself envious of Qin Sang. Who wouldn't be envious? If he and his brothers had such a battle guard back then, they wouldn't have faced so many difficulties. He wondered how his second and third brothers were doing now.

However, once he emerged from the Gui Xu, everything would turn for the better!

Moyan's eyes flickered. With a flick of his brush, he conjured a path of ink beneath his feet.

At this moment, the two elders also noticed the anomaly. They exchanged glances. Monarch Chayun grabbed the green light, while Elder Qiuzang pulled out a green leaf shaped like a tiny boat.

The leaf boat floated out of his palm, seemingly piercing through the void and gradually fading. The next moment, it surprisingly appeared beside the other side of the battlefield.

Then Elder Qiuzang's gaze froze. He saw that the green leaf boat was entirely black, somehow covered in ink without him noticing.

‘Crack!’

The leaf boat, as if drained of its luster and vitality by the ink, withered and shattered.

Elder Qiuzang's movements paused. With the leaf boat destroyed, he couldn't unleash his subsequent divine abilities. His gaze shifted, and he saw Moyan smiling at him.

“One on one, a fair fight. Why interfere with them, fellow Daoist?”

No sooner had Moyan's voice faded than an ink phoenix flew out from behind him, letting out a crisp cry.

The ink phoenix's eyes seemed a bit more spirited than before. It opened its mouth and spewed forth gouts of ink flames. However, its power was ultimately somewhat lacking, so it could only provide support from the sidelines.

The Thunderbeast Battle Guard, Moyan, and the Ink Phoenix pushed back the Gu Witch, joining forces to fight the three demons!

Qin Sang's eyes were fixed solely on the Plague Lord of Miasma. He chose to trust Moyan and the Thunderbeast Battle Guard, not paying attention to the other side of the battlefield.

‘Clang!’

The sound of metal and jade clashing.

Moyan couldn't hold back the three demons for long, so Qin Sang had little time. He held nothing back, immediately unleashing a Void Domain divine ability. The Heavenly Confinement Golden Lock and Earth Prison Divine Ring flashed interchangeably, instantly diffusing a faint golden light.

“You've actually comprehended a Void Domain divine ability!”

The Plague Lord of Miasma's face showed surprise. He immediately felt the surrounding toxic miasma stagnate, as if it were about to be forcibly taken from him.

However, the Plague Lord of Miasma quickly realized that this was not Qin Sang's own Void Domain, but rather the ability of a treasure. There was a fundamental difference between the two!

“Condense!”

The Plague Lord of Miasma surprisingly chose not to evade. Before being enveloped by the Void Domain, he swiftly cast a seal. Then, slender black shadows emerged within the toxic miasma.

These black shadows resembled individual black insects, connecting head to tail, forming a large Chinese character for ‘big’ (大) within the toxic miasma.

On closer inspection, it also looked like a human skeleton.

‘Buzz!’

A resonant hum emanated from within the Void Domain.

Qin Sang was surprised to see a humanoid outline rise from the toxic miasma, revealing a giant. This giant had black insects for bones and toxic miasma for flesh and blood, with the Plague Lord of Miasma precisely positioned at its head.

The giant's entire body was enveloped by the power of the Void Domain. Now, it exerted force with both arms, slowly sitting up within the Void Domain! Even the Heavenly Eye Butterfly's Profound Void Divine Light could only drift within the Void Domain, yet this giant could directly counter it. Its strength was truly terrifying!

The giant's colossal, bell-like eyes shot forth a gaze filled with murderous intent and mockery—it was the Plague Lord of Miasma's gaze.

In fact, this was not a divine ability he unleashed alone. Those black insects were the Gu Witch's Gu worms. Only through the combined divine abilities of him and his sister could they achieve such power!

They lacked a powerful background and were unwilling to seek refuge with a demon saint, thus missing out on a demon saint's guidance. To this day, they hadn't comprehended their own Void Domain. However, they were both exceptionally gifted, their cultivation mutually complementary. After years of joint secluded cultivation, they had surprisingly forged a new path, comprehending a powerful divine ability.

His toxic miasma and the Gu Witch's black insects were both supreme treasures, painstakingly gathered from countless rare materials and refined over centuries. Using these, they could unleash this divine ability, which, though lacking the true might of a Void Domain, could nevertheless contend with one!

However, this was their ultimate trump card, yet Qin Sang alone had forced them to reveal it.

Qin Sang sighed inwardly, realizing it was a slight miscalculation. Had they not revealed their presence prematurely, the Plague Lord of Miasma and the Gu Witch would certainly not have had the chance to unleash this divine ability.

Just then, Qin Sang's expression shifted as he sensed something amiss. With a cold snort, he silently activated a lightning spell, and thunder immediately boomed across the battlefield.

What Qin Sang was casting now was a lightning art transmitted from the Five Thunders Institute.

The Qingwei Prayer and Purification Jade Scroll!

Daoist lightning arts encompassed everything, including many techniques for warding off plagues and curing pestilences, capable of countering the path of plague and poison.

The Qingwei Prayer and Purification Jade Scroll was one such art!

Just now, Qin Sang had suddenly felt an anomaly, knowing it must be the Plague Lord of Miasma's plague and poison art at work. After the Plague Lord of Miasma transformed into a giant, his divine ability also seemed to have been enhanced, not to be underestimated.

Unlike the previous lightning arts he had cast, the display of this one was not grand. The thunder was gentle, making even the ferocious Azure Phoenix Demonic Lightning appear much softer.

Using demonic lightning to unleash a righteous Daoist lightning art, its power remained undiminished. As the lightning art was cast, there were no myriad divine thunders, only a faint blue, water-like lightning glow, gently flowing across the battlefield, dissolving the plague and poison.

As the lightning flowed over the giant, its body seemed to dissipate slightly.

“Open!”

The Plague Lord of Miasma roared in fury. The sound, emanating from the giant's mouth, was an earth-shattering bellow. The giant propped its legs against the void, its entire ‘bloodline’ swelling, and it raised its arms, roaring.

Its hands seemed to grasp the curtain of the sky, exerting all its strength to tear open the heavens that obscured it.

And that ‘heaven’ was the Void Domain!

‘Clang, clang, clang...’

The Void Domain vibrated, and both the Heavenly Confinement Golden Lock and Earth Prison Divine Ring hummed violently. The giant's strength was indeed terrifying.

However, Qin Sang's abilities were far from exhausted! While casting the Qingwei Prayer and Purification Jade Scroll, he silently activated a sword art, and a streak of sword light flashed above the giant's head.

Instantly, the battlefield plunged into darkness. Only specks of starlight could be seen in the profound gloom, as the giant fell into a sword formation.

Inside the sword formation, myriad starlight illuminated the giant. Amidst the stars, a full moon hung high, much brighter than before. The Grand Yin Divine Sword and Gray Oriole Sword had been fused into the Grand Yin Spirit Sword. Although the true essence of Grand Yin had not yet been fully refined, the power of the sword formation unleashed at this moment was incomparable to its previous state.

‘Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!’

Sword-stars continuously fell, like a rain of meteors, transforming into sharp spirit swords upon reaching the giant's head.

‘Boom!’

In the blink of an eye, countless spirit swords pierced towards the giant.

Fortunately, the giant was not a being of flesh and blood, otherwise its head would have long been pulverized into a honeycomb.

The giant's entire body shook violently. With each spirit sword that fell, it was forced down a notch.

The sword formation's offensive had only just begun. As dragon roars and tiger growls echoed from the four cardinal star regions, the Four Spirits appeared simultaneously.

In the depths of the starry sky, Qin Sang looked down upon the giant. He split into two: his Dharma Idol merged with his main body, radiating a dazzling glazed light as he unleashed the Great Vajra Wheel Seal; his Dharma Body separated, focusing entirely on controlling the sword formation.

The sacred beasts roared in unison, and the star-fiends merged, directly unleashing the strongest sword strike.

The giant sensed the danger, abruptly raised its head, and stared fixedly at the sword light in the sky. Meanwhile, inside the giant, the Plague Lord of Miasma had, at some unknown point, produced a banner.

The banner's colors were very similar to the toxic miasma; when it fluttered, it resembled flowing miasma. The banner left his grasp, slowly ascended, flew to the giant's head, and stood in the void, its surface flapping loudly.

‘Whoosh!’

The sword light descended from the sky.

Instantly, the starlight was dazzling, causing the banner to dim.

Even before the sword light arrived, the banner began to tremble violently. The Plague Lord of Miasma's expression subtly changed, and a low growl, like a tiger's roar, rumbled from his throat. Then, his figure blurred, revealing his true form.

The Plague Lord of Miasma's true form was a scorpion-tiger. Its entire body was covered in iron-hard grayish-brown fur, its physique resembled a tiger, and its tail was like a scorpion's, tipped with a barbed poisonous stinger.

‘Crack!’

Its scorpion tail lashed out, striking towards the void, and a black light flashed at its tip.

The banner above the giant's head suddenly ignited. The blazing flames were surprisingly as multicolored as the toxic miasma itself, containing an indelible black light – this was the Plague Lord of Miasma's primordial poison.

‘Whoosh!’

The demonic flames blazed fiercely.

The sword light tore through the air, piercing into the sea of fire, instantly igniting a monstrous wave of flames that seemed capable of setting the very stars ablaze, utterly terrifying.

Within the flames, the shadows of the Four Sacred Beasts emerged, fearless of the demonic fire's scorching. Though the demonic fire appeared grand and powerful, and the Plague Lord of Miasma even sacrificed his primordial poison, it was instead suppressed.

This banner was also an exotic treasure, but the Gray Oriole Sword, having fused with fragments of the Grand Yin Divine Sword, clearly possessed superior power. Seeing this, a flicker of reluctance and ferocity crossed the Plague Lord of Miasma's eyes. The demonic flames suddenly deepened a few shades, and their power surged dramatically.

Little did they know, this came at the cost of destroying the banner itself!

The Plague Lord of Miasma's resolve was so absolute because he once again saw Qin Sang. Qin Sang, holding an immortal mountain in his hand, treading on starlight, descended gracefully. With the stars and moon behind him, he appeared like a celestial deity.

“Fellow Daoist, your abilities are impressive, but I wonder if you can withstand this mountain?” Qin Sang's clear voice echoed across the heavens.

Aside from a few secrets that absolutely could not be revealed, Qin Sang was now using almost his full power. Previously, enemies he encountered would often be defeated once his Void Domain and sword formation were unleashed. Yet, now, the Plague Lord of Miasma had countered each and every one of them!

Regardless of whether these were the Plague Lord of Miasma's own powers, it had to be said that he was indeed a formidable opponent.

Qin Sang's expression darkened. The Daiyu Immortal Mountain grew into a towering peak at a visible rate. The giant could only crouch beneath it, looking up at the immortal mountain, like a ferocious beast suppressed under a mountain.

‘Boom!’

The immortal mountain toppled!

I'll be out of town tomorrow, so please don't wait for updates.
